Nugget Casino visit left me underwhelmed, worth a return trip?
Only been once myself and the cage thing hits home, two windows open on a Saturday night is just rough 😅 waiting forever after a win kills the mood. Did the floor feel dead to you because of the crowd or the machines? Curious if it was worth the trip at all 🤔
Asking dumb bonus questions, that's the job.
Both, honestly. Machines felt stale and the crowd was thin for a Saturday, then the cage finished the job 😭 Cashed out slower than I hit, and that's saying something.
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
ha, "cashed out slower than I hit" is the line of the thread 😄 went through the same slog at the cage once and it souring a good night is a special kind of pain. the old slots hit different back when a venue kept its floor fresh, and if the machines feel stale on a saturday that tells you where management's head is at. i'll give a place one more shot but only on a weeknight, see if it was just a bad saturday.
It's all hit and busted before, folks.
Two windows on a Saturday is honestly a choice, and not a good one. I got stuck in that same line a while back and by the time I hit the cage half the buzz from the win was gone. Nobody walks to the cage happy and leaves happy when the queue barely moves.
On the floor itself, thin crowd plus stale machines is usually a sign management has stopped caring. Dead machines in a half-empty room, that tracks. The one thing I'd say before writing the whole place off: check whether the trip was even worth it in cash. If you actually got paid at the cage without drama, that's more than half the venues out there manage. Slow is annoying, unpaid is worse. But yeah, long-run the house still wins either way, so a return trip needs to earn itself.
Hype isn't a payout.
That cage story is the part I believe without a screenshot, because everyone who's been there says the same thing. Two windows on a Saturday is them telling you cashing out is an afterthought, deposits get all the attention.
My caveat though, the floor being dead cuts both ways. Thin crowd means the machines you actually want might be free, no waiting around for a seat. I was in on a weeknight once and it was quiet but at least I never queued for anything until the cage. That's where it falls apart. You can tolerate a tired floor if the trip in was cheap and the exit is quick, but a slow cage kills any reason to come back. I'd give it one more shot off-peak before writing it off entirely.
