Grand Villa Casino Burnaby has some serious drawbacks
Went to Grand Villa last month and yeah, the floor felt dead in terms of staff. Waited ages to get a drink order in and there was this one poor dealer covering what felt like half the pit 😅 honestly thought a big BC venue would have more bodies around.
Is it always like that or did I just hit a weird weeknight? Curious if others found the same. The slots were fine, nothing against the machines themselves, but the whole vibe gets off when you can't find anyone to help. Go easy on me if I'm wrong, still pretty new to checking out the land-based spots around here 🙏
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
One dealer running half the pit tracks with what I saw too. Understaffed floor usually means slower cage service as well, and when I cash out I want it quick, not a queue. BCLC-licensed or not, thin staffing on a Friday tells you where the priorities sit. Still minus in the long run either way, so at least make the visit smooth.
Hype isn't a payout.
BigWinAddict mentioned the cage queue... is that actually a common thing when a floor is short staffed? 😅 I've only cashed out once at Grand Villa and it was fine, but that was a quiet Tuesday. Do Fridays really get that bad there?

man, a quiet tuesday at a big place like that is rare, i guess. but when the gaming floor is running ragged, like some of these players are saying, the whole operation starts to feel bottlenecked. that disorganisation absolutely hurts the cage service too, so the wait times will creep up fast when you finally get there to cash out.
It's all hit and busted before, folks.
if they can't staff the floor right, the slots won't pay anyway. been through this cycle before.
I remember the old slots first-hand.
I think understaffed just makes everything feel super unprofessional 😩. Hopefully it gets better soon!
