Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby left me underwhelmed
Haven't been to Grand Villa myself but that slow cage vibe kills a place for me, if I cash out chips I want it quick and friendly. Maybe I'm being dumb but does the floor pick back up later in the night, or does it stay half-dead after dinner? 🙈 Might save me a trip out there.

Went on a Friday myself and honestly the pits never filled back in after the dinner rush either, tables running short-staffed the whole night. Slots were fine but nothing worth a return trip. Cage took longer than the line suggested, guy cashed me out like he was doing me a favour. Save the gas money 💸

Cashed out there once too and yeah, the cage felt like a bank counter in 1995. Pretty building, tired floor. The old slots used to pay better anywhere in the lower mainland.
Been grinding longer than some have played.
Two of you got the same dead-after-dinner floor, that seals it for me. Pretty building, cold cage, no reason to burn gas to Burnaby.
Ha, funny how two quiet nights in a row gets called a verdict around here 😄 I turned 50 into 5k on a dead Tuesday floor once, nobody around, tables half asleep. Quiet pit is a complaint until you remember a busy Saturday floor means waiting three deep for a seat and a vibe like a bus depot.
Still, fair point on the cage. A slow cashout after a win sticks with you longer than any slot session, that's just human nature. I'd give the place one more crack on a proper weekend peak myself before writing it off, half-staffed pits at 9pm on a Saturday is a weird one though, that I'll grant you.Ha, funny how two quiet Saturdays turn into a verdict around here 😄 I turned 50 into 5k once on a dead weeknight floor, nobody breathing down my neck, dealer all to myself. Quiet pit is only a crime till you've queued three deep for a seat on a proper busy night.
But the cage bit I can't argue with.
Busted more than you've deposited 😉
Cashed my chips there last Saturday too, line was short but the guy acted like a favour 😅 at least VancouverLocal has a point, dead floor means no waiting for a seat
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
A quiet floor is one thing, but when the cage guy treats cashing out like a chore that's a different animal. I've sat in pits deader than a Tuesday league night and still walked out smiling because the crew had some life in them. Maybe the building's doing all the heavy lifting there, eh. Wonder if a busier Saturday changes the mood or just the noise.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

@OneMoreDeposit_FC this, exactly. Floor can be a morgue, fine, cards don't care. But a cage guy sighing at your chips tells you everything about how the place views players. I've walked out of mid-sized spots grinning just because the crew acted like paying you was normal. Once-and-done sounds right for Grand Villa from what folks here describe.
Licence first, deposit after.
The cage attitude thing gets me too, I'd be bothered big time. Never been myself but sounds like a once-and-done kinda spot 😅
