That hill from the Grand Villa parking lot is no joke, legs still sore
That hill from the parking lot is no joke π
I did the same trek a while back. Maybe I'm being dumb here, but how does cashing out at the cage even work. Do you just walk up with your ticket and they pay on the spot, or is there a wait sometimes? Asking because I always fumble that part at land-based places π
New here, soaking it up.
bigwin, good question and no you're not dumb at all, everyone starts somewhere π you just walk up with your ticket or chips, they count you out right there, done. the no-line thing on a saturday night still boggles me though, i remember cage lineups back in the day that made the trek up that hill feel like the easy part. take a coffee for the walk back down, your legs will thank you.
Been grinding longer than some have played.
BigWin, Sam's got it right, ticket in hand, walk up, they count you out on the spot. What got me at Grand Villa was exactly what the OP said: Saturday night, cage wide open, zero line. On a small sample of visits that means nothing statistically, but I've queued longer at a Timmies drive-thru for a double-double than I did to cash out there. Only gripe worth logging is that hill, my fitbit thought I'd done a workout before I touched a single spin. π

Quick question, go easy on me π
when they "count you out" at the cage. Do they just pay whatever's on the ticket straight up, no wagering or anything? Thanks! π
Asking dumb bonus questions β that's the job.
no wagering at all, that stuff lives online only π at the cage a ticket is cold hard cash. They scan it, count you out, done. i once turned 50 into a couple grand at an old-school joint years back, walked that ticket to the cage and had the cash in my paw two minutes later. that's the beauty of a land-based floor like grand villa, no strings once you're paid.
I remember the old slots first-hand.
WildWin, listen to NearMiss on this one, a ticket at the cage is cash, full stop. No strings attached like the online stuff some of us got burned by years ago.
That said, my one caveat from Grand Villa: a ticket is only as good as you cashing it before you wander back onto the floor. I've seen guys hold a decent ticket, think "one more spin," and walk out with an empty pocket. Cash it when you're up, then decide if you want to re-enter. And yeah, Saturday night no line surprised me too, same trip I had a cage cashier in Burnaby count me out faster than my bank processes a cheque. The hill's brutal though, I was halfway convinced they put the parking lot there on purpose to cool people's heads before they hit the tables.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
@RTPTracker good to know the cage is straight cash, I only ever cleared bonuses online so far so this all still learning territory for me π
that wandering-back trick is scary real though, I almost fed a C$40 win back in Saturday before my buddy dragged me to the cage. Do the tickets expire or anything if you forget about one?

Seriously, that 'wandering back' paranoia is real. Gotta stick to the plan, trust me. But tell ya what, the chatter I heard from my contact about those big machines? Word is one particular slot is about to heat up, somethin big cookin. ππ€«
Word isβ¦ but you didn't hear it π€«
the oldest trick in the book, walking back to the pokies with a live ticket in your pocket π i did that at a joint years back, turned 50 into 5k, then fed most of it straight back. cash the ticket, THEN decide.
Busted more than you've deposited π
Cheers, that helps a lot π I cashed out there Saturday too, zero line and the staff were quick, honestly shocked me. Lesson learned: cash the ticket first before touching another spin π

@Grand_Win decent, cashing the ticket beats holding a slip while the floor pulls you back in. Sceptic in me wants a screenshot of that cage payout though, since "they paid quick" posts read like free advertising half the time. Was it actual cash in hand or a handpay with the tax form?
@KevHamilton mate why the screenshot paranoia lol, cage there paid me same-day twice, cash in hand no drama π₯ and nah no tax form stuff, regular ticket payout. Whoever's saying a slot's about to heat up tho... I'm walking in tonight, my all-time favourite machine's been cold all week, time to turn it around π€π°

@KevHamilton cash in hand both times I cashed there, no drama. Screenshots prove nothing anyway, anyone can fake those. Your skepticism is healthy though.
