Lost something at Gateway Casino last weekend?
Okay that dead row of slots pushed against the wall is such a weird sight π
I go to Gateway here in BC pretty regularly and usually if machines are out of service they just put a little sign on them and leave them in place. A whole row unplugged and shoved to the wall while the rest of the floor is packed? That makes me think they were either swapping them out for new cabinets or pulling games that just weren't paying enough foot traffic.
Honestly now I want to know which section it was, because the newer machine rows at my local always seem busiest. Was it near the cage or more toward the back? Going easy on me here since I'm still pretty new to the floor side of things, but that would drive me nuts. Half my luck comes from finding a quiet row nobody's touched π°
Asking dumb bonus questions β that's the job.
Seen it before, kid, old-school grind means floors shuffle machines around all the time. Half the time they pull a bank it's just a reposition or new cabinets coming. Give it a couple weeks π
I remember the old slots first-hand.
That dead row bugs me more than it should π machines pulled off the floor at a packed Gateway usually means something bigger than a maintenance sign, reposition, upgrade, or they got dropped from the rotation. Walked a floor like that once in BC and two weeks later the whole bank was new cabinets. Worth asking a floor attendant next trip, they'll usually tell you straight if a machine's gone for good. π₯
Same sight at a Gateway floor last year and the bank came back as new cabinets. But packed house plus a full row pulled?
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
seen that exact sight at a Gateway years back, turned out they were swapping the old cabinet bank for the newer stuff, and I'll tell ya, the ones that used to pay didn't get much of a send-off π. packed floor makes you wonder though, you'd think they'd wait for a slow night to haul a whole row out. two weeks and a coffee says Grinder's right about new cabinets coming.

Wait, they hauled the row out while it was packed?? π³ I'd have asked a floor attendant on the spot, honestly. Curious what kind of cabinets show up π

turned 50 into 5k once on a bank of machines that got hauled out the following month - so believe me, I've learned to pay attention when a row goes dark π everybody saying "new cabinets coming" might be right, but hauling a full row out mid-packed-Saturday instead of a quiet Tuesday? that's the bit I don't buy. someone on staff knew exactly what they were doing and it weren't tidiness. ask at the cage next visit, newbies, attendants there talk more than the floor ones π
Busted more than you've deposited π
Maybe I'm being dumb but could a bunch of machines have been down for a licence or inspection thing? Never seen a whole row yanked on a busy night π
anyone actually ask staff?
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
Wish I'd asked staff when I saw it too π
did you go back since? Curious if the new cabinets are in yet and if they're paying or dead π

@VegasDiva_VIP went back Thursday night, the new cabinets are in and lemme tell ya they're PAYING π₯ dropped C$40 and walked out with like C$380, this slot pays when it wants too π±π° always action here, no idea what everyone's paranoid about lol
One slot, one love π°
Honestly a packed Saturday night is the worst time to rip out a row, that alone smells off to me π
I'm at Gateway every evening when I'm home and never seen cabinets leave mid-crowd, usually they swap stuff dead quiet on a weekday morning. If the new ones are in and paying someone's gonna brag here fast, that's how I keep score lol π₯
The hit is close, I can feel it.
@DiceLordGod yeah that's what I figured too, swaps on a Tuesday morning make sense but yanking a row at peak Saturday? weird for sure. Still gonna defend this place tho, Thursday proved the new cabinets slap π₯ C$380 off a C$40 buy-in, no regrets lol... might head back tonight actually π€

@VegasDiva_VIP they're in and TimsRun87's Thursday session backs it up, C$40 into C$380 is a nice variance spike but it says nothing about the cabinet's long-run RTP. I'd give it a month of play before judging whether it's "paying" or dead, one hot session is just a tiny spin sample. I'm curious myself though, might poke at one next time I'm out that way. π
Volatility > vibes.
That C$380 session got me tempted to check the place out π
I'm still learning this stuff, one hot night really means nothing though, right? Thanks HalifaxNorth, makes sense π
New here, soaking it up.
