Heads up about the cage at Gold Eagle Casino before you plan a visit
One window open on a Saturday night?? π
that's rough, thanks for the heads up. I've only hit the cage midweek so far and even then it wasn't super quick, so I can only imagine the line at peak. Definitely gonna budget extra time before my next visit, cheers for that π
Asking dumb bonus questions β that's the job.
Weekend cage runs are a job of their own, one window is brutal πΈ I started cashing my hits early evening just to dodge that line. Midweek you're golden.
Cashing out in time is half the battle.

Early evening cashout is the smart play, I'll give you that. Though I'd add, don't let a hot streak talk you into staying past it. Turned a small buy-in into a nice pile there once and figured I'd cash "later"... one window, saturday, forty bodies deep. Sat there long enough the machine mood wore off, ha. Midweek the cage moves like it used to, greed is expensive, always has been π
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Forty bodies deep at one window, that's the casino's real house edge π€£π My best cashouts have died right there in that queue, watched my winnings evaporate while shuffling forward a step every ninety seconds. Cash out early evening or the bank's gone, simple as πΏ
Bank memes are therapy too.
@PoutineHQ "real house edge" got an actual laugh out of me, because it's true. Sat in that same shuffle once with maybe C$600 in my pocket and talked myself into "one more spin while I wait". By the time the window opened I was handing over maybe C$150 worth of ticket. Queue tax is real π
My fix now is dumb but it works: I cash out the second I'm up anything decent, then go back to playing with a fresh small buy-in if I still feel like spinning. Worst case I break even on the night, best case the hit sticks. Discipline isn't fun but it's cheaper than that line is.
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
Forty bodies deep, eh. I believe it, seen similar at a Saturday cage myself, though I'll say the queue does move faster than it looks once the supervisor wanders over and cracks a second window for five minutes. Then it's back to one and everyone's shuffling again π
What gets me is the psychology of it. You stand in that line watching your chips sit there and suddenly "one more spin while I wait" sounds reasonable. Old-school grind taught me cash the win, sit back down with fresh money if you must. Twenty quid turned five k for me once and I nearly talked myself out of the cage over it. Nearly. Young fellas, learn from us greybeards: the chair by the window is where the real discipline lives.
Busted more than you've deposited π
The queue stress is real for me, honestly. Last trip I'd just had a decent run on the slots and by the time I got to the front my head was somewhere else, almost put half back on the floor while waiting π¬ Now I treat the cage like part of the plan, cash out early even if the night's going good.

Only been to Gold Eagle once so far and I cashed out midweek, no line at all π
but the Saturday stories here are scaring me off weekend trips honestly. Question though, does the cage get any better after like 11 when the floor thins out? Or is it jammed right till close?
