Gold Eagle Casino felt dead on a Saturday night
π
that sounds rough, a dead floor on a Saturday is the worst. Maybe I'm being dumb but I thought Saturday nights were when slots near the entrance should be buzzing, not so quiet you wonder if it's closed lol. Good to hear the cage cashed you out quick though, that's usually my fear π still learning this whole scene so threads like this help.
New here, soaking it up.

you're not being dumb max, that's exactly what a saturday should look like π i've been walking casino floors since before you were likely spinning anything, and the ones that used to pay always had that entrance hum. Machines ringing, someone hollering at a handpay. so yeah, a dead slot pit by the door on a saturday feels wrong, like walking into a bar with no music.
but here's my two cents from a few decades of this cycle: quiet floors and good cages often travel together. the places that hammer you with energy are usually the ones grinding you down on the way out. i'd rather a sleepy saturday and a cage that pays quick at 10pm than a buzzing joint where cashing out feels like pulling teeth. give the old-school grind a chance next visit - sometimes the slow ones are hiding the decent machines π
Been grinding longer than some have played.
Funny thing about that entrance slot section, I did the exact same walk-around there. Checked twice if it was roped off. Saturday should be a buzzing floor, and North Battleford just doesn't bring it, gotta give you that. π
What kept me from writing the place off was the cage. Cashed out around 10pm and they had me sorted inside a couple minutes, no line, no drama. Quick cage is worth more to me than a lively crowd, honestly - when I'm up I want my cheque and the parking lot, not atmosphere. So my take: dead floor, decent exit. If the energy ever shows up it'd be a solid stop, but I wouldn't drive out expecting a Saturday scene π°
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
π€£ cage being the only lively part of my Saturday says a lot. I walked that entrance section too, thought I'd give'r a spin, it just stared back at me. Tilted so hard I donated to the coffee machine instead lol
Bank memes are therapy too.
I remember when those entrance slots hummed all night, the old ones hit different. Maybe Saturday crowd was at the tables? Wouldn't write it off for one visit π
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Only been playing casino trips for a few months so go easy on me π
but maybe the quiet entrance section isn't the crowd problem. Those machines right by the door might just be the tired ones nobody bothers with once they're deeper in? π€ Still, if the only buzz in the building at 10pm was the cage line paying out, that kinda says it all lol. Thanks though, this thread actually helps β was thinking of a second visit π

@WildWin_Live98 no worries kid, you might be onto something there. Door machines are the ones everyone dumps losing coins into on the way out, floor staff know it too. Turned 50 into 5k once way back in the middle of a floor, never once at an entrance slot π RTP used to be fairer on the old ones anyway. Give the deeper rows a shot next Saturday.

WildWin_Live98 that actually makes sense π
still learning how floors work, but the cage cashout was quick enough that I'd maybe give it a second Saturday chance, thanks for the breakdown π

Honestly the door machines always felt cold to me too π
next time I'm walking straight past them to the middle of the floor. Does anyone know if weekends pick up later at night? π€

ToqueNorth, weekends there do pick up later, usually after 10 when the bar crowd drifts in. I skip the door machines every time, sat down on one last trip and it ate a C$20 stake without a peep. Walked twenty feet deeper and hit on the second spin π° Sometimes the whole vibe is just bad placement at the front.
