Did anyone else find the Nugget Casino floor underwhelming?
underwhelmed, eh? funny, i walked the Nugget floor once and had the opposite first impression, till the evening rush hit and suddenly you're playing elbows-out with a stranger's beer elbow every second spin. that place just wasn't built for a full house. worth another look midweek maybe, when it's dead and you can actually breathe between machines 😉
Busted more than you've deposited 😉

I've only been to a floor like twice so maybe I'm easy to impress 😅 but yeah that elbow traffic sounds rough. Do the crowds die down on weeknights or is it always like that?
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
Elbows-out by second spin is exactly what kills a session for me 🎰 If I'm grinding a bankroll I need room to breathe between machines, and a cramped floor just makes me cash out early and call it. Curious if the cage lines were bad too on a packed Saturday, that's usually where these places show their true colours 😭
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
Ben said it right, the floor itself is decent when it's half empty, which tells you the whole story. The layout only works if half the machines sit idle, and that's a design problem you notice the second the evening crowd rolls in. I've walked floors where you could slide between rows with a drink in hand at peak hours; the Nugget isn't one of them.
Weeknights do thin out a bit from what I've seen, WildWin, but don't expect empty. My rule after a visit like yours: judge the place by how the cage handles a busy night. Anyone can cash you out fast on a quiet Tuesday. If the line moves and they pay without drama when the floor is packed, that's when I'd call it a decent venue. Otherwise it's just a cramped room with flashing lights.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
RTPTracker nails it. Walked the Nugget midweek once, fine spacing, but Friday night I gave up finding a machine and just hit the cage early. Design only works when it's dead.
Licence first, deposit after.
What got me at the Nugget was how the tight spacing turns the evening crowd into a session-killer 😭 I had a machine finally paying and some guy leaning over my shoulder every spin, ended up cashing whatever I'd banked and walking. A floor that only plays well half-empty isn't really playing well, is it 🎰
Cashing out in time is half the battle.

@NearMissEnjoyer haha that shoulder-breather would've broke me too, can't hit a spin with someone reading over my shoulder like I'm writing an exam 😂 I cashed a small hit at the Nugget once just to escape a chatty guy asking my "system". Spoiler, the system was hoping lol 🤣
One more spin, promise.
NearMissEnjoyer, same. Had a paying machine die on me once because some guy hovering behind made it impossible to focus. Weeknights only for me now.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.
Weeknights for me too after a Friday there. My machine died mid-session and I couldn't even bail clean with shoulders pressed in. Cage line was the easy exit 🔸💸
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
funny reading this thread, took the missus to the Nugget a while back and we said the same — floor's decent till about 8pm, then you're playing shoulder-to-shoulder like it's a bus stop. these days i go early afternoon, machines are quiet and the cage doesn't have a line. verdict from me: good little spot, just pick your hours 😉
I remember the old slots first-hand.
@NearMissGate early afternoon crew checking in, same here honestly. Quiet floor, nobody breathing on your screen, and the free coffee actually tastes okay. Big hit last week on my favourite there, C$1,240, would never have landed that with a bus stop crowd behind me 🔥🎰
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
The bus stop comparison is dead on. I was there on a Saturday evening once and you genuinely couldn't get a clean read on your own session, which matters more than people think. I keep a spreadsheet per machine, hit rate and volatility, and crowding wrecks your pacing. You spin faster when someone's hovering, faster spins mean your variance window shrinks and the session feels worse even if the machine's running to spec. On a small spin sample you can't tell anyway, but at least give yourself the conditions to find out.
Tilt_Truther, congrats on the C$1,240, that's a proper hit. Weekday afternoons for me too, though I'd add the coffee is doing a lot of heavy lifting for how quiet the floor gets before 8pm.
Volatility > vibes.
