Heads up before you visit Gold Horse Casino
Went to Gold Horse a couple months back and honestly I had the same feeling walking in π
The floor is so dim you're basically squinting trying to find the cage, and I swear I walked past the same wall of slots three times before I found the tables. First visit for me, maybe that's on me, go easy on me lol.
What got me though is how cramped it feels once you're in there. You weave through machines to get anywhere and there's no obvious signage. Do they keep it dim on purpose or is it just old lighting? Curious if anyone else found the cage hard to locate too, or if it was just my bad luck π€·

Same thing happened to me, walked past that slot wall twice before spotting the tables. Didn't help that I was squinting the whole time. I did cash out at the cage and got paid fine, so no complaints there, but you shouldn't need a map to find the place to collect. Dim lighting over a gaming floor just reads cheap to me.
Licence first, deposit after.
Got lost in that same slot maze myself, walked a full loop before spotting the tables π funny thing is the cage paid me quick too, no fuss at all. Odd how a place can be decent where it counts and still make you squint your way around like it's a maze on purpose.
Busted more than you've deposited π
Maybe a dumb question, go easy on me π
when you all say the cage paid quick, does that mean the cage has its own queue or do you cash out at the same desk where the tables are? Only ask cause I got lost near the slots too and never actually found it π
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
No dumb question at all, kid π the cage is its own spot, usually a walled-off counter near the front or back of the floor, separate from the tables. You walk up, hand over your ticket or chips, and they pay you there. Some places have a wee queue line like a bank, most are just walk-up.
Funny part is at Gold Horse the cage paid folks quick by every account in this thread, it just hides behind that wall of slots like it owes you money. I did the same loop you did my first visit, ended up asking a floor guy before he pointed me past the machines. Pro tip, ask any dealer or staff on your way in where the cage sits, saves you the squint later π
Been grinding longer than some have played.
Thanks Sam, that actually clears it up for me too π
so if I ever brave that slot maze again I'm heading straight for the counter first. Did you find signage anywhere or just pure luck? π

turned 50 into 5k once in a joint just as dim as that, so the low lighting never bothered me much π if anything I wonder if the "maze" is on purpose, keep you wandering past the slots one more spin before you reach the cage. signage though, fair point, some places would rather you stay lost near the machines hey
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Shortcut? mate, the shortcut is you stop dreaming and learn the joint, every old floor I've grinded was a maze the first three visits π and nearmiss, if the maze theory were true the cage would be buried deeper, mine was two steps from the door at Gold Horse. The lighting though, that one I'll give you, felt like they were rationing the bulbs.

GrinderSpin two steps from the door?? I must've hit a different cage entrance then π
took me ages weaving through slots to cash out my C$20. Guess it's just about learning the layout like you said, third visit's the charm? π

@VegasDiva_VIP honestly the third visit thing is real, took me two trips before I walked straight from the cage to the door without drifting past a single slot πΈ and that C$20 cashout took ages, I'd have been eyeing the machines the whole way too. My tip: on the way out, pick one landmark, the pillar or whatever, and cut straight to it. Works half the time π
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
The whole maze thing is just them making sure ya walk past enough machines before you even get near the cage.
