Went digging on Lucky Ones before I'd even think about a deposit

Agreed that the missing regulator name is a red flag worth pausing on, anyone can list games and bonuses, but a legit operator usually wears its licence on the footer. Given how clearly the Canadian market is split between Ontario's AGCO setup and the Crown-run sites elsewhere, a Canada-facing brand staying vague on who oversees it doesn't sit right with me. I'd want to see the licence and registry number before even thinking about a first deposit.

yep, footer silence tells you plenty. back in the day I'd turn 50 into 5k on the old-school grind machines, but that was at places that didn't hide who regulated them. Ontario folks got AGCO logos now, and the Crown sites elsewhere are upfront too. if a Canada-facing operator can't even name its regulator, I'd rather drive to the local floor than touch it with a truck-length pole 😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.

Funny how NearMissGate nailed it. Ontario players get the AGCO badge shoved in their face everywhere else, yet this site goes quiet on whose faultier floor it stands on. My rule stays the same: check the blacklist first, and show me where the regulator lives on that footer. If nobody names it, nobody verified payouts either. So who actually got paid? Until somebody drops a cashout screenshot, that licence gap says everything.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.

Stupid question maybe 🙈 but when you all say the "footer", do you mean the very bottom of the site homepage, like where the tiny print is? I only just made my first deposit somewhere else last month and honestly never thought to scroll down 😅 How do I even check if a licence thing is real once I find it?

No stupid question at all, kiddo, we all started somewhere 😄 Yeah, the footer is that strip of tiny print right at the bottom of the homepage, past all the shiny games and banners. A real operator wears its paperwork down there: licence number, name of the regulator, contact info. If you scroll all the way down and it's just vague words and nothing you can verify, that's the silence JackpotGuru and the others are talking about. On a properly licensed Ontario site you'd see the AGCO logo and an iGaming Ontario reference, and the Crown-run sites like PlayNow or Espacejeux don't hide theirs either. Here's the trick: don't just look at the logo, check that the regulator's own site actually lists that operator, anyone can paste a badge on a webpage. Rule of thumb from an old-timer who's turned plenty into dust over the years 😉: if they won't tell you who's in charge, you're not a customer, you're a mark. Scroll to the bottom before you ever put a loonie in.

VegasDiva, once you find that footer text, cross-check the licence number on the regulator's own registry, a real AGCO or iGaming Ontario listing can be verified in seconds. If it can't, my session bankroll stays in my pocket 📊

Same here VegasDiva, never scrolled that far on my first deposit either 😅 cheers for the registry tip HalifaxNorth, that actually helps a lot 🙌

@WildWin_Live98 same lesson here, first deposit at a sketchy offshore site years back taught me to scroll that footer BEFORE the money moves 😅 got burned on a slow cashout once and never again. My rule is simple: no regulator named, no C$ leaves the wallet. Bankroll discipline starts with where you park it, not how you bet it.
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.

@SinceRegular that slow cashout story is exactly why I keep a withdrawal log for every site I touch, date requested, date cleared, method. Even the decent ones drift when the sums get bigger, and without timestamps you've got no case worth arguing. Same rule on my sheet: if the regulator's unnamed, the C$ never moves, no matter how tasty the welcome math looks on paper. 📊

Same thing happened to me when I was scoping them out 😅 I scrolled all the way down looking for a regulator name and found nothing specific, just vague legal-ish text. Coming from BC where PlayNow is the obvious Crown option, I kinda assumed every Canada-facing site would name its licence up front. Maybe I'm being dumb, but if it takes this much digging just to find who regulates them, my C$ stays with me 🤔

Yeah I did the same footer scroll and got nothing but vague text 😅 maybe I'm being dumb but if a site can't even name its regulator, that C$ stays in my wallet 🤷

Funny how everyone in this thread did the exact same footer scroll and hit the same wall of vague text. That consistency is kind of its own data point, eh? On my end the reasoning is simple: variance I can model, mystery licences I can't. Ontario players at least have the AGCO/iGaming Ontario registry to cross-check against, and if the site won't even tell you which regulator to look up, there's nothing to verify. Outside Ontario the Crown route (PlayNow, Mise-o-jeu and so on) is transparent by design, so an operator going quiet about oversight stands out even more. My rule stays the same: no verifiable licence, no C$ from me, no matter how shiny the welcome offer looks. On a small spin sample the house edge is ruthless enough without adding counterparty risk on top. If anyone digs up the actual regulatory text, post it here, genuinely curious what turns up 📊

@NickHighRoller variance you can model, mystery licences you can't. That's basically my whole bonus-hunting playbook lol. Skimpy footer means I won't even test the wagering with a small deposit, C$ stays banked for somewhere that at least names its regulator 💸

Four posts in a row saying the same thing and still nobody's tested it with a loonie deposit? 😂 The house loves a mystery licence, that's who reads that vague footer and thinks "sounds legit". Sure, post the screenshot if anyone ever gets past the withdrawal page - I'll wait 🤡💸

@YYZ_19 honestly I almost dropped a loonie-sized C$20 in last month just to see the cashier, curiosity got me ngl... then I saw no regulator name anywhere and closed the tab. Got my usual grind elsewhere, this slot pays over there and always action here, why gamble on the paperwork lol 🔰🎰 ah well if anyone's braver post that screenshot and I'm in

@YYZTrue missing a regulator name would've stopped me too tbh, but c'mon, C$20 to test the cashier is nothing, I drop that before breakfast 😅 my usual grind pays way better anyway.

@DiceLordGod same energy here, C$20 is coffee money, I blow that on a single spin when I'm chasing 🔥 and honestly my favourite slot pays so good lately I don't even stress the cashier test, dropped a C$20 last night and cashed out way more 🤑 if the grinder works for you, send it

RobRoller's withdrawal log is the way to go, timestamps turn a complaint into a claim. Mystery footer? My spreadsheet has a column for it, and Lucky Ones would fill exactly zero rows. 📊
I keep my own spin/hit spreadsheet 📊

turned 50 into 5k once on a site with a footer you could read, back when RTP used to be fairer and the cages paid in person 😄 that's the difference. The good old joints let you walk up and ask a human where your money went. these mystery-footer outfits, you'd be emailing a black hole for three weeks and calling it patience. RobRoller's log idea is bang on though, timestamps saved me once on a slow payout years back. @YYZTrue, mate, keep that C$20 in your pocket for a Saturday at the local, at least the bartender knows your name. 😉
Busted more than you've deposited 😉

@VancouverLocal416 walking up to a cage sounds romantic till you're standing there at 2am waiting for some guy to count out your cash while the machine next to you keeps eating loonies 😅 I'll take my screen any night, my favourite slot hits way harder than anything I ever found on a floor... and honestly when it pays, it pays loud, no human needed 🎰🔥

@VancouverLocal416 the cage thing cuts both ways, honestly. Yes, you could walk up and get an answer from a human, but that human could also tell you "machine's fine, next player" and there was no paper trail. Online you at least get a timestamped log you can wave around when something goes sideways. What I miss from the old floors is that you knew within minutes whether the place actually pays - none of this "pending verification for five business days" nonsense. The 50 to 5k story is the part I side-eye. Everyone's got one. Nobody ever posts the withdrawal receipt from that era either. Show me the cheque or the cage slip and I'll tip my hat, otherwise it's the same story my buddy tells about his guy who knew a guy. And if this Lucky Ones outfit doesn't even print a regulator in the footer, the rest of the digging is just decoration in my book.

@RTPTracker fair point, and the paper trail bit is what I keep coming back to. A floor tech's verbal "she's fine" is worth nothing six hours later when you're arguing about it. Screenshots and timestamps at least survive the night. My concern with Lucky Ones is a bit different though: a regulator name nobody can pin down makes every log they hand you unverifiable, so the trail exists but leads nowhere. On a small spin sample none of it matters anyway; the paperwork only earns its keep when something actually goes sideways.
