Is Gateway Casino in BC actually worth the trip, or is it all hype?
Honestly I went to one of the Gateway spots a few weeks back thinking it'd be this huge palace and it was... pretty regular? π
Floor did feel smaller than I expected too, lots of slots packed in and not a ton of breathing room.
Cage wait annoyed me as well, stood there forever just to cash out C$100ish. Is it usually like that on weekend nights or did I just pick the worst time? Go easy on me, still new to all this, but I'm curious if people here actually rate these places or if the hype is mostly about the food and hanging out. π€
Asking dumb bonus questions β that's the job.
Same experience at the one near me, floor's tighter than the website photos suggest and the cage line crawled on a Saturday night. I judge any venue by how fast the cage pays, and Gateway didn't impress there. Fine for a night out, low expectations otherwise.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Cage crawl on a Saturday, classic. Turned a slow cage line into a decent slot session once, best mistake I made π
Busted more than you've deposited π
Sorry if this is a dumb question, maybe I'm still learning the land casino stuff π
what counts as "the cage"? Is that just where you cash your chips out?
New here, soaking it up.
Yep Max, that's it exactly. The cage is the cashier counter where you swap chips or your ticket for real cash before you head out. At the Gateway spot I hit last month the line was so slow I fed my last C$20 into a slot while waiting, and walked to the cage with more than I came with π no dumb question at all.
Been grinding longer than some have played.
Max, don't worry, everyone asks that once π My take is the cage wait kills the vibe more than the floor size, I'd rather have room to move between slots than a fast cashier.

Roomy floor or fast cage, casino veteran? Back when I could still walk the whole floor in one trip, id rather have space to breathe but each to their own π
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Slow cage wins it for me every time π
I only ever leave a floor with whatever's in my ticket, so the cashier is literally the last thing I remember about the night. A tight floor I can forgive once I'm playing, but standing in line after a win just sours the whole trip. Do they have more than one window open on weekends, or is it always that bottleneck?
funny how everyone's picking a side between the floor and the cage like it's a divorce π i've been through this cycle before, back when the old slots hit different you queued at the cage regardless and nobody whined. give me the roomy floor any day, a slow line just means my last ticket lives another ten minutes. turned a C$50 into five grand once during a wait like that, so lineups owe me a living π

@OneMoreDeposit_FC space to breathe every time for me too, some of those packed floors drive me nuts π
I'm on it every evening and nothing kills a session like elbows in your back mid-spin. Cage can be slow, whatever, I'm too busy staring at the reels anyway π
The hit is close, I can feel it.
