How do you verify a casino's licence before depositing money?
Good topic, and honestly overdue. I keep a spreadsheet on RTP and volatility for every slot I play, so trust me when I say I read footers before I read promotions. The thing with Spin Palace and similar outfits: the regulator name should sit right at the bottom of the page, usually with a licence number you can actually cross-check on the regulator's own site. If that footer only has bonus banners and responsible-gaming logos but no verifiable licensing body, I close the tab and move on. A C$20 deposit test only tells you how they behave with your money; the licence tells you who you complain to when something goes sideways.
Question for the regulars here: when you check a footer, do you actually click through and confirm the licence number on the regulator's register, or do most people just eyeball the logo? I ask because a screenshot of a badge proves nothing, anyone can paste one.
Volatility > vibes.
a spreadsheet, eh? that's more discipline than i've had in forty years of this game 😄 i once turned 50 into 5k on the old Microgaming machines and couldn't tell you a single thing about the licence, got lucky, learned slow.
these days though i do the footer check like a ritual, especially with spin palace getting talked up around here. if the regulator name isn't sitting right there in the footer where it belongs, that's my cue to walk. the old slots hit different because the places that ran them weren't hiding paperwork. trust your gut but verify the footer first, lads. took me too many busted banks to figure that out the cheap way.
I remember the old slots first-hand.
A spreadsheet's cute, Halifax, but got a cashout screenshot from any of those "verified" footer casinos? Gramps, lucky and unverified is how people eat a C$5k win and never see it.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
LuckyLady that's my fear too 😅 I literally scrolled Spin Palace's footer looking for the regulator logo before my first deposit. Where exactly am I supposed to see licence number, still figuring this out 🙈 cheers
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
Total noob here so go easy on me 🙈 everyone keeps saying "check the licence number in the footer" - like, does it need to be clickable to a regulator page, or is text enough? 😅

text in footer means nothing on its own, mate. Plenty of dead sites write whatever they like down there. what you want is a logo or link that actually takes you to the regulator's own page showing the licence is live, and for Spin Palace in Canada, if that click goes nowhere, i'd keep my C$ in my pocket. back in the day nobody checked a thing before dropping coin on the old Microgaming grind, and half of us got away with it, the other half ain't here to tell you 😄

This helped me too, thanks 🙏 clicked the footer logo on Spin Palace myself and it actually opened a licence page, felt way better putting my first C$ in after that.

ToqueNorth that click-through is exactly what I look for too. If the footer link opens a live licence page on the regulator's own domain, that's the baseline before I trust it with even a small C$ deposit. My habit after that: take the licence number from that page and search it directly on the regulator's site, because a working link alone doesn't prove the number belongs to that brand. On a small spin sample you can get lucky, but I'd rather not find out the variance of trusting a dead footer the hard way 📊
Volatility > vibes.
Tried that click test too, the little logo thing worked on my first deposit and I felt better lol 🙈 but does the licence being live actually mean withdrawals go fast? 😅
The click test saved me too on Spin Palace 🙏 licence page opened right up and I relaxed instantly 😅 VegasDiva that's the big question tho, licence tells you it's legit, withdrawals are a whole other beast imo 🎰
Backing my slot to the last spin.
BigWin77 said it right 😅 I did the same click test on Spin Palace before my first C$20 deposit, felt way less nervous after. But yeah, now I'm stuck on the next part, does the licence tell you anything about wagering requirements or withdrawal limits? Maybe I'm being dumb but I still can't figure out how much I need to play through before cashing out 🙏
New here, soaking it up.
@BigWin_Max nope, licence says nothing about wagering or cashout caps. I grabbed a bonus on Spin Palace with a C$50 deposit once and the T&Cs nearly killed the whole win, always read the terms before you opt in 💸
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
Licence just means they can take your money legally, it says nothing about wagering or cashout speed 🎰 had a dead bonus clearing on Spin Palace that taught me to read T&Cs separately 💸

@SinceRegular fair point but I gotta defend my spot here lol, been playing my favourite slots on Spin Palace for ages and withdrawals always landed for me 💰 yeah read the T&Cs before grabbing a bonus, dead bonus clears are the worst, but don't scare the newbies off a solid casino 🔥🎰
One slot, one love 🎰
SinceRegular nailed it, licence is the entry ticket and nothing more. I keep an RTP sheet on my spins and even I can tell you the footer check only tells you who to complain to, wagering terms are a separate document entirely. Read the T&Cs on any bonus before you give'r with a deposit, and your withdrawal speed question is one nobody here can answer without real cashout data.

@RobRoller screenshot idea is actually smart, never thought of that lol. I've been spinning at Spin Palace for years and the MGA badge in the footer always checked out for me, withdrawals landed every time 💰 but yeah those max-bet clauses will get ya if you skim the T&Cs like I used to... last night's session was HUGE ngl 🔥🤑
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
Been on Spin Palace for ages and honestly I just check the MGA thing in the footer and go play 😅 nobody's gonna talk me out of my favourite, last night's session hit HUGE ngl 💰🔥... read the T&Cs before grabbing a bonus tho, my buddy got burned on a max-bet clause once and I felt bad for him lol

@VoidedWinVictim fair play if the badge checks out every time, but don't lean on the footer alone mate. anyone can paste an MGA logo into a webpage; what you want is to click it and land on the regulator's actual register with a licence number that matches. turned 50 into 5k once at a place years back and only then found out the "licence" link went nowhere - lucky that time, less lucky the next 😄
screenshot trick Rob mentioned is a solid habit too, learned it the hard way when a max-bet clause ate half a win of mine. if the site makes it hard to verify the number, that tells you everything you need before a deposit. you've clearly had good runs there, so keep going. Just do the two-minute check first, newbies especially take note 😉
Busted more than you've deposited 😉
Funny how the badge only "checks out" once the withdrawals actually land, eh 😏 clicking through to the MGA register takes what, 30 seconds, and the number better match the site or that's your red flag right there. Half you lot would paste your credit card into a popup if it had a nice logo on it 🤡 did they let you withdraw that "HUGE" win yet, or is it still a win on paper? 💸
A paper win won't feed you.
