North Casino in Canada - anyone actually walked in and used the cage?
Following this one 🙋 made my first deposit online recently and cages are a whole new world for me. What do they actually ask for at the window. Just gov photo ID, or do they want more? Would hate to show up with cash and get turned away 😅

kids these days walking into a cage with cash and a prayer 😄 honestly a gov photo ID is the baseline anywhere I've been, but every venue adds its own little twists, so before you burn the gas up here, call ahead or email them and ask exactly what they want at the window. Then report back, because half the fun of these threads is somebody doing the legwork for the rest of us. turned 50 into 5k once at a live cage after a rough start, so I'm biased, but the ones that used to pay... well, RTP used to be fairer, that's all I'll say. greed has busted more banks than bad luck ever did.
I remember the old slots first-hand.
This might be dumb but when they say "call ahead". Who do I even ask for, the cage directly or front desk? 😅 Don't wanna email into the void.

Front desk or cage, either works, just say "what do you need from me to cash out at the window" and they'll pass you along or answer straight. I've done that call a few times over the years, usually while planning a trip with a deposit in mind, and the worst they say is "check with security." Takes two minutes and saves you a drive with cash in your pocket and no luck at the window 😄

answered ToqueNorth above it well, i'll just add my two bits: when i do that call i ask for the cage itself, not the front desk, because the cage staff are the ones who'll actually eyeball your ID and they never sweeten the answer. another thing nobody mentions, bring a second piece beyond the gov photo ID, some venues up here want backup with your address on it, and i'd rather dig a hydro bill out of the truck than get turned around at the window 😄 turned 50 into 5k once on the old reels the same trip i learned that lesson, so trust me the prep is worth it.

@NearMissGate solid advice. Cage direct is the only answer worth anything, front desk will just parrot the brochure. And for LoonieNorth. The "extra checks" panic is overblown, biggest wait I've had at a cage was maybe twenty minutes while a supervisor signed off. Bring the ID, expect a delay on a big cashout, and believe it when you cash out, not before.
Licence first, deposit after.

@BankrollHunter twenty minutes is nothing, my buddy cashed a decent jackpot there and grabbed a coffee while he waited 😅 cage folks were chill about the whole thing 🔰🎰
NearMissGate has it right, cage staff never sugarcoat anything. Only thing I'd add: ask them how they handle payouts over a certain amount, because the window will happily take your C$ all day but a bigger cashout can trigger extra ID checks or a wait for the supervisor. Found that out the hard way once when I showed up expecting to walk out same-day and security had to get involved.
And one more thing for the checklist, since someone mentioned calling ahead — while you've got them on the phone, ask straight up whether they have a written payout policy you can see at the cage. If the person on the phone hems and haws about that, that tells you something before you've spent a dime on gas.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Honestly this thread already answered my ID worry 😅 gov photo ID + call the cage first, got it. Big cashout extra checks though - that part scares me a bit, anyone waited long at the window? 🙏
