Gateway Casino in BC is just okay for a day trip
Went out to Gateway with a buddy a couple weekends back and yeah, kinda agree with the vibe here. The place is huge, but the main floor felt dead quiet. Like half the tables had two people at them on a Saturday night. I kept waiting for the energy to show up and it just never did 😅
That said, I'm also the guy who only knows these spots from popping my head in, so maybe I caught it on an off night? Cashing out at the cage was quick at least, no complaints there. Anyone else find it that quiet, or did I just go at a weird time? 🎰

Two people at a table on a Saturday is rough eh. I popped in one weeknight and the slots side was the same story, rows of machines paying nobody and barely a seat taken. Big floor with no buzz just kills the session for me, I'd rather a smaller room that's actually lively.

gotta push back a little here, a quiet floor isn't always a bad thing in my book. sure, saturday with two guys at a table is rough, i'll give you that. but i've had some of my best cage walks on nights where the room was half empty and the machines actually paying. remember turning 50 into 5k once on a dead tuesday floor like that, nobody crowding the reels, no noise, just me and the old slots. those old slots hit different when you can actually hear them 😄
that said, i get what you mean about buzz. a big empty room does feel like a bingo hall after closing. maybe Gateway's problem is the size, too much floor for the crowd they pull. smaller room with the same players would feel ten times livelier. i'd still take quiet and paying over packed and cold any day though 😉
It's all hit and busted before, folks.
GoldenGirl, a good cage walk only counts with a receipt. Quiet floor or not, got a cashout screenshot from that night? Until then it's just a story.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
GoldenGirl, receipts or it didn't happen, LuckyLady's right. Only caveat I'd add: a dead-quiet floor at that Gateway made me cash out early both visits. Nothing like an empty room to kill the mood.
Licence first, deposit after.
Funny how a quiet floor changes how you hear your own spins eh. I did one afternoon there and the slots section was so empty you could hear a single machine ringing out across the room, which should feel like a win moment but mostly felt awkward. Cashout at the cage was quick at least, no lineup, but I was gone within the hour.
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
I've only done a day trip there once, and the quiet floor was what stuck with me too. Big room, barely any buzz. Maybe weekdays are just like that? 🤷
