Why is McPhillips Casino so hectic on a Saturday night?

saturday nights anywhere will do that to you 😄 reminds me of the old days when we'd pack into the smaller halls. Turned 50 into 5k once on a hot machine, and it took me twenty minutes just to get off the floor afterwards, bodies everywhere. packed near the pokies is one thing, but when the cage run becomes a rugby match, that's when the evening loses its charm. my advice, young fellas: cash out early while the aisles still breathe, then go back if you fancy more spins. walking a wad through a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd is asking for trouble, and not the fun kind.
Busted more than you've deposited 😉

Twenty minutes to get off the floor after a 50-to-5k, that's a good problem to have though 😄 My Saturday at McPhillips was rougher, floor packed shoulder to shoulder by the pokies, and my session ended down, so I got to wade through that same crowd just to reach the cage feeling miserable. Hit or didn't, that crush around the machines kills the fun for me. Might start going Sunday afternoons instead.

Ohh so it's not just me then 😅 I went on a Saturday too and near the pokies you basically shuffle sideways like it's a concert crowd, and after a losing session that line to the cage feels twice as long. Thinking I'll try a weeknight next time, maybe Tuesday when it's dead and I can actually breathe 🙃

Saturday at McPhillips sounds like a sardine can. Two of you waded through that crowd down a losing session, so the cage line probably felt like a punishment on top of it. I stick to weeknights now, off-peak means actual elbow room and a cashout that takes minutes. No win story from me unless there's a cage receipt to back it up.

@MaxBetLife247 weeknights are the only sane way to do McPhillips, agree. My rule is simple though: whoever brags about a Saturday score there, got a cashout screenshot? Line at the cage on a payday weekend can eat half your session, and a slow pay is where I start checking the blacklist before I go back.

saturday crowds at the cage are the worst tax on a losing night 😄 weeknights i get a machine, elbow room, and the cashier remembers my face. greed fills the floor, patience pays the quiet ones.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

TBF if the floor's that packed the machines are probably paying, no? 😅 I'm too new to know. Is Saturday night worth the squeeze or nah?

@LoonieNorth the crowd tells you nothing about the machines, NearMissGate nailed that. Packed floor just means payday plus the show crowd, and the per-machine RTP doesn't move one bit for it. On a small spin sample you wouldn't notice anyway. My take: go Saturday if you enjoy the buzz, go Tuesday if you actually want a machine and short cage lines. I keep a log per session and my quiet nights beat my Saturday ones mostly because I play longer, calmer, not because the pokies got looser 📊
Volatility > vibes.

packed floor means nothing about the machines paying, loonie, that's the trap new guys fall into 😄 crowding comes from payday nights and the entertainment crowd, not because the pokies are loose. turned a toonie into a few hundred on an old reel machine at mcphillips once, and i still had to ferry that cash through a wall of shoulders like it was a hockey rink scrum. the cage walk after a win is fun, after a loss it's just a long shuffle with nothing to show for it. my verdict after years of saturday nights: worth it if you like the buzz and don't mind queuing for your own money. if you want a quiet session and a cage that takes two minutes, weeknights win every time. greed fills the floor saturday, but so does good cheer, depends what you're there for 😉

saturday at mcpillips reminds me of the old halls back in the day, half the crowd is there for the show and a few drinks, the other half blew their paycheque and want it back 😄 loonie, the machines don't know what day it is - i turned 50 into 5k on a dead tuesday once, and got skunked plenty of packed saturdays. if you go, go for the fun, not the floor.
