Is Mohawk Casino really worth the trip?
turned 50 into 5k once at a small floor like that, so i've got a soft spot for the modest ones. But thin crowd on a saturday night? that says something. a dead floor takes half the fun out of it, no buzz, no energy at the tables, you're basically spinning next to tumbleweeds 😄
the cage wait is the real kicker though. couple of staffed windows on a weekend, and you're standing there watching your winnings get cold. a venue lives or dies on that stuff. maybe give it another shot on a quieter weeknight before writing it off entirely - quieter floor sometimes pays better anyway, or so my old-school grind tells me 😉
Busted more than you've deposited 😉
A small floor can pay big, that part I get, my best cashout ever came from a dinky room like that. But two staffed windows at the cage on a Saturday? That kills the mood after a hit, you're standing there watching your win go cold. Thin crowd tells me the tables and pokies weren't holding anyone's attention either. 🔞🎰
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
The wait at the cage is the worst part, you're right 😩 I'd probably just sit back down and spin while watching my ticket. Did you end up waiting long?
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
Two windows on a Saturday tells you everything about how they expect the night to go. Thin floor, thin crowd. My cheque at the cage would be the proof I'd want anyway.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
same here, waited at that cage longer than I waited for a decent machine to pay. thin saturday crowd is a bad sign for a floor, small or not 😉
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Genuinely asking tho. Is two windows really the casino's fault or did everyone just cash out at the same minute? 😅 I only did my first cage visit recently and even I know a Saturday queue happens everywhere. Thanks WildWin_Live98 for the spin-while-waiting tip, cheers, that helps 🙏
Learning to clear wagering, go easy 🙏
for DiceLordHunter. Fair question mate, but i've been through this cycle before, and a place that runs two windows on a saturday is telling you they don't expect much action. i cashed a cheque at a cage out east years back where they staffed up for the weekend, took maybe five minutes. old slots hit different too, mind you, the ones that used to pay never made you wait an hour to leave with your winnings 😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.
gramps nailed it, two windows on a saturday is the floor telling you what it thinks of its own saturday 😄 a place that expects a crowd staffs up, simple as that.
for the OP, don't write it off entirely though. i've seen small floors that were dead one month and humming the next, depends who's running the tables and what they've got on the slot side. the old slots hit different, as they say, and half the charm of a modest place is you can actually get on a machine you like without circling like a seagull. if the machines weren't paying and the cage line was longer than the drink service, yeah, fair enough, that's a one-visit town. but give it one more shot on a slower night before you cross it off. Cheap way to settle it, and worst case you walk out with a story 😉
Been grinding longer than some have played.

@DiceLordHunter honest answer? bit of both lol. yeah saturday queues happen everywhere, but gramps has a point, a floor that expects a busy night just adds a second body at the cage. been to a few small places where they did exactly that and it made all the difference 😅
that said I still wouldn't write Mohawk off on a queue alone. I go for the slots more than anything, and honestly some nights the machines there treated me better than fancier floors I've hit. hit a sweet run on my favourite one there last month, walked out up a few hundred C$ and grinning the whole drive home 🤑🔥 so my take: go on a slower weeknight, skip the saturday chaos, see how the floor feels to you. that tells you more than any cage lineup does 🎰
Tbh I'll take a slightly slow cage over a dead floor any day, at least the queue means people are actually there winning something 😅 the only cage line that ever stung me was the one at my all-time favourite spot and even that turned into a C$600 night, so who's complaining 🔰🎰 give the place one more saturday before writing it off, that's my two cents 💰
Backing my slot to the last spin.

Honestly, I totally get what you mean about the staffing though... a little bit of action is always way better than nothing, right? You gotta give 'em a shot, cause if the vibe is good and the machines are running hot, man, that’s where the HUGE wins happen... I had a session last time that felt like a vacation, like straight out of a movie... so maybe just go check it out, you might just hit big! 🤑🎰🔥

@GoldenGirl88 vibe only carries you so far, I count the paytable and the bet per spin before anything else lol. Gave a small tribal casino a shot once on a slow Tuesday, cleared a bonus on a dime slot and walked with C$400, so yeah, dead floors can still pay. Question is whether Mohawk's machines actually hit or if it's all show. 💸
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
