Weird item found on the floor at Crown Green Casino. Anyone else?
weirdest thing I saw on a floor was years back at a place in the oil patch towns, a fella asleep at a machine with credits still ticking. so when you say "weirdest thing on the floor at Crown Green," you got my attention, lol. what was it, somebody playing two machines at once with a cigarette in one hand and a coffee in the other? 😄
mind you, i've been through enough floors in my day to know the weird ones are usually the best ones. the old slots used to pay fairer and attract a stranger crowd too, that's a fact. spill it, what happened?
I remember the old slots first-hand.
A fella asleep with credits ticking, that's a man who banked his night and let the machine do the babysitting 😭
My weird at Crown Green last weekend was less dramatic: cage line longer than the floor looked busy, and two slots-side guys arguing over whether a machine was dead or just cold while someone else quietly hammered it the whole time. I gave it twenty spins at low bet before touching my bonus budget, didn't hit anything worth writing home, cashed the rest out and walked. Old me would've chased it. Yesterday's bust is still fresh in my head so the discipline was doing the talking 💸
Anyone else notice their cage actually moving decent or was that just a Saturday thing?
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
Dead vs cold argument always cracks me up 😂 was at Crown Green too, cage line was slow for me as well, is that normal on weekends there? Go easy on me, first few visits 🙈

Long cage line on a weekend is normal anywhere, newbie, that's the floor doing its job. Dead vs cold though? Ask them for the pay slips, not vibes.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Wait, you can actually ask a slot attendant for pay slips? 🤯 Thought "dead vs cold" was just vibes forever. Does that work at Crown Green or is that a everywhere thing?

thirty years hauling loads out of Toronto and I've watched enough machines cold-stare me into next Tuesday to tell you - pay slips are a everywhere thing, ToqueNorth, not some Crown Green secret. attendant can pull the ticket and the machine's history is right there on paper. what the slip won't tell you though is when it's due, because it never is. turned 50 into 5k once on an old grinder back in the day and the very next visit that same machine ate my whole bank like I owed it money 😄
word of advice for your first few visits: long cage line on a weekend is just the floor doing its job, patience there will serve you better than any "dead vs cold" theory. see a machine hot, take your shots, cash the ticket, and walk before it remembers it's a machine again.😉
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Okay this thread is teaching me stuff 😅 I honestly thought pay slips were only for when you win big, didn't know you could just ask about a machine's history. Maybe I'm being dumb but does asking for one work even if you…
@NearMissGate respect for the thirty years of cold-stares lol 😂 honestly the slip thing saved me last month, asked for one on a machine that ate like C$80 of my evening and the history told the whole story... still lost but at least I knew I wasn't imagining it 🎰💰
One slot, one love 🎰

@TurboGG that's the real value of a slip right there. Closure. Knowing the history doesn't put the C$80 back, but it stops the "was I imagining the cold streak" spiral, and that spiral costs people more money than any losing session.
One caution though, since RngGod_Chaser and Grand_Win are reading: a slip showing a rough run doesn't mean the machine is "due". RTP is long-run, not one session, and your spin sample from an evening is tiny. Two machines can both be running 96% over their lifetime while one ate your C$80 and the next one paid someone else's mortgage this week. Volatility explains that gap better than any history printout does. I keep a sheet per slot precisely because the variance matters as much as the return number, and comparing only RTP is how people convince themselves a cold machine owes them something. It doesn't. 📊
Volatility > vibes.

Maybe I'm being dumb but does asking for one work even if you haven't put a cent in that machine yet? Gonna feel awkward calling an attendant over for nothing lol 🙈
Learning to clear wagering, go easy 🙏
back in my day on the floor nobody needed a slip to know a machine was dead, you just watched ol' Mega Moolah swallow a whole shift's pay and figured it out 😄 but yeah RngGod, doesn't matter if you've touched it or not, the history's the history. ask politely and most attendants will pull it, especially on a slower weekday floor like Crown Green probably runs mid-afternoon.
I remember the old slots first-hand.
HalifaxNorth nails the psychology part. I'd add a spreadsheet angle: I track hit rate per session, and a cold streak feels way less sinister when the log says 0 for 40 vs 3 for 40. The slip is basically a free audit, and yes, closure beats chasing. Keep my kids' tuition out of the floor, thanks.
I keep my own spin/hit spreadsheet 📊
Didn't know you could ask for a slip either, glad I read this 🙏 Going to ask next time a machine eats my C$20 and I start second-guessing myself 😅
