My Rolla Casino trust checklist after a few visits from Canada
Honestly never heard anyone break down a casino visit like that, floor staff and cage vibes before even spinning 😅 kinda respect it. I've only done a handful of trips from Vancouver so my "checklist" is basically: does the cage guy sigh when I walk up, and how awkward is the first ID check lol. Went easy on me last time so that's already a green flag in my book 🙃
Curious about one thing from your list though, how do you even tell good cage behaviour from bad on a first visit? And do you ask about withdrawal stuff upfront or just wait and see? Go easy on me, still new to all this 😂 cheers
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
the sigh test is real, kid, trust me on that one. i turned 50 into 5k once on an old-school grind at a place where the cage guy actually remembered my name by the third visit, and i've busted banks at spots where they treated every ID check like i was counterfeiting the thing. floor attitude tells you everything before you drop a single toonie. patience's the real checklist item nobody writes down though, dead machine? walk away, there's always another night 😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Total noob here 😅 the "sigh test", is that literally just watching if the cage guy sighs, or something more? I'd probably miss it completely lol

it's just reading the little stuff at the cage, mate. do they greet you or grunt, do they slide your C$ back like it's dirty laundry. i judge a joint the same way. If the floor staff wander over with a coffee instead of a smile while you're grinding, that's a spot i've seen go dead before. the good ones, like the cage guy who knew my name by visit three, tend to run the slots that actually pay 😉

I'd flip the question, YYC - the anxiety is on you, and the cage guy's sigh is on them, and only one of those actually predicts anything. NearMissGate, I like you, but I'll needle a bit: one C$50-to-5k run at a friendly cage is a sample of exactly one session. I track variance for a living, and I can tell you vibe-reading at the cage has worse predictive power than a loonie toss. A grumpy cashier and a dead floor are correlated with a struggling venue, sure, but you're reading mood, not solvency.
That said, my own checklist does have one hard item the soft stuff can't replace: how they run ID checks. Slow, polite, done once. Fine. Re-asking every visit, or hovering while you cash out - that tells me something about their compliance posture, and that's the thing I actually care about before settling in for a grind. The sigh test I'd file under entertainment. 📊
Volatility > vibes.
This thread actually helped me make my own checklist 😅 still nervy at ID checks but I watch the cage now instead of panicking. Anyone else add anything after a bad first visit? 🙏

@ToqueNorth bad first visit? I once got stiff-armed at the cage mid-wagering grind and walked. One rule I'd add: cash out on time, mood aside 💸
Cashing out in time is half the battle.

@ToqueNorth my add to the checklist: set your cashout number before you sit down. Last visit I banked a solid hit and walked same night instead of giving it back 🔸💸

@HalifaxNorth lol fair needle, one lucky cage run means diddly 😂 my sample size is a C$0 balance and a fridge full of KD. Bank's gone, trust the sigh 🤣
Bank memes are therapy too.
@PoutineHQ fridge full of KD is the real bankroll report lol. One cage run means nothing, same way one bonus clear doesn't make a system 😭
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
Josh_YUL has the right of it, the cashout number gets decided before you sit down, full stop. On a small spin sample variance will hand you a peak at some point, and the only EV you actually control is whether you're still holding it when you leave. I keep a note on my phone with my stop number and my walk-away loss limit, and I check both before I touch the machine. Mood-based decisions are just variance's favourite donor.
Volatility > vibes.
Josh got it right, cashout number first or you're just donating 😅 I did the exact same thing Paul did once, hit a decent one on my all-time favourite slot, got greedy, gave most of it back before I woke up lol. Now I tap out the second it hits, no exceptions 🔥💰
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
Josh nailed it honestly. I do the same but I go one step further, I split the hit before I leave the floor. Half stays in my pocket for the cage, other half I'm allowed to spin back if I want a shot at running it up. Saved me more times than I can count 😭 last trip I hit a decent one on my go-to slot, spun back the play half, busted it, but the walk money was already safe so it didn't sting.
And yeah Ben is right, one good cage run means nothing long term. It's the repeat discipline that keeps the bankroll alive 💸
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
Multiplier's split method works on paper until the half you're "allowed to spin back" quietly becomes the whole thing. Seen it happen more than once.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.

@Tilt_Truther tap out the second it hits, that's the discipline I wish I had 😅 did the online equivalent last year, hit a nice one on my bankroll, spun the whole thing back chasing a bigger one. Lesson paid for. Whale's got a point too though, that "half to spin back" always grows teeth when you're up.

🤣 WhaleLive called it, that "allowed to spin back" half has a funny way of growing legs. I did the same thing at the cage line once, cashed out, walked back in with "just a bit" and deposited the last of it lol. Now I make my buddy hold the ticket and look ugly at me if I reach for it 🍿
