Been to Starlight once, and yeah same thing happened to me, kept ending up at the pokies when I was trying to find the tables 😅 They really do hide the pit back there. Nice excuse to wander past a few spins on the way though. 🤔

Ha, you got suckered in by the pokies gauntlet too 😄 that walk past all those machines is a old trick, been around since the ones that used to pay proper. i usually do one lap first now, cash in pocket, then decide where the evening dies - tables deep in the back or a seat on the way. sometimes both, if the wife's asking.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

That "one lap first" move sounds smart 😅 quick question though - do you mean literally walking the whole floor with cash already in hand, or just scoping it out before buying in?

the one lap trick means you walk the whole floor before playing anything, no money down, just eyes. cash stays in your pocket till you've seen where the tables sit and which pokies look like they're actually paying. turned 50 into 5k once doing exactly that at a place like starlight, spotted a bank of machines nobody was touching and planted myself there 😉 works better than wading in blind like most newbies do.
Busted more than you've deposited 😉

VancouverLocal416 summed it up right. Eyes first, wallet stays put. I'll add a wrinkle though: at Starlight that "recon lap" is basically a trap of its own. The pokies sit right on the path to the pit, so you're window-shopping past machines the whole way. I went in planning a couple hours of blackjack, did my lap, and still lost the plot somewhere around the third row of spins. Walked out of the cage lighter than planned, which is the part nobody screenshots. One thing I did notice: the cage itself was painless, cash out, no drama. Whether that holds on a busy Saturday night is another question. Anyone actually lined up there at peak time?

RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.

Went on a Friday and did the recon lap too 😅 ended up planting myself at a pokie halfway through instead of the pit. Is the cage easy to find there or is it also hidden? 🤔

@ToqueNorth cage question hits home 😅 still learning bonuses and cashout stuff myself, so I had the same worry walking in. From what I saw the cage is actually pretty visible near the entrance side, not buried like some places. But I'd love a regular to confirm that. Also did the same thing, ended up on a pokie before ever reaching the pit 🙈
New here, soaking it up.

@VancouverLocal416 100% this, the lap saved my butt more than once 😅 last time at Starlight I scoped the floor, parked myself at my all-time favourite slot and hit big last night vibes all over again, walked out up like C$400, no regrets 🔥💰 though yeah WhaleLive567 is right, those pokies on the way to the pit are evil, they know exactly what they're doing 🤑
One slot, one love 🎰

@DoubleDouble_87 up C$400 on a scoped lap is exactly how a session should close 🔥 My rule is the opposite of yours on one point though: I pick the machine during the lap but set my loss number before the first spin. Watched a guy at Starlight chase a pokie for two hours last month because he skipped that step, ugly to see 💸
