Went to Starlight a few weekends back and yeah, that transition is weird 😅 You're walking past regular shops and then boom, slots and tables right there. Took me a minute to realize I was actually on the gaming floor. Anyone else find the cage hard to locate first time? I wandered around like a lost puppy 🐶

Found the cage eventually, but only after wandering past a shoe store first, felt like I was shopping with a gambling problem. The retail-corridor-to-pokies thing threw me too the first visit. My only gripe: keep your withdrawal slip from the cage, ask for a receipt every time, because "the machine ate my ticket" stories are common enough that I don't take chances.

shopping with a gambling problem, that's the funniest way I've heard it put 😄 my first walk into Starlight I honestly thought I'd taken a wrong turn into the mall food court, then there's the tables just sitting there. felt the same the first time I wandered off the floor at a place in Vegas years back and ended up by a gift shop. the cage? took me a loop past the shops too, don't feel bad fella.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

Same here, ended up past the shoe store too 😅 dumb question maybe but is the cage even signed, or do you just have to wander till you spot it?

ha, VegasDiva, no dumb questions luv, the cage is signed, just not loudly, it's tucked along one side past the tables. First time I cashed out there I did a lap past the shoe shop myself before spotting it 😄 keep an eye out for the little cashier sign near the table games, you'll find it quicker the second visit, promise.
Busted more than you've deposited 😉

Tbh the mall-to-floor thing almost feels intentional, like they don't want the entrance to scream casino so people stumble in on impulse 😅 Worked on me the first visit, one minute I'm browsing shops, next thing I'm at the tables. Worth it just for how low-key it all feels though 🤔

to be fair Grand_Win, I'd push back a bit on the "stumbled in on impulse" bit, nobody walks past a shoe store and ends up at a blackjack table by accident, they knew where they were going 😄 the low-key entrance is nice though, gotta admit. reminds me a little of the old-school grind venues where the floor just sort of swallowed you up, no fanfare. turned 50 into 5k once in a room like that, back when the slots actually paid, mind you 😉 as for the cage, VegasDiva, VancouverLocal's right. It's quiet, tucked off to the side past the tables. I did my own confused lap the first time too, cashed a cheque-sized win and still nearly walked out through the mall with the ticket in my pocket. funny how a place can feel so low-key and still empty your wallet all the same. busted more banks than I care to count there... okay, one bank. but it was a good run while it lasted 🙃
I remember the old slots first-hand.

I'm with Grand_Win on the vibe though. Felt way less intimidating for my first casino trip than a big standalone place 😅 went easy on me at the tables lol

Nobody stumbles in by accident, sure, but the day I "just popped in for a look" at Starlight I left C$200 lighter, so maybe the mall trick works better than you think 😄

Same here 😅 first trip I walked in from the mall corridor and genuinely wasn't sure I'd found the gaming floor yet. Weird but kinda nice entryway, gotta say.
New here, soaking it up.
