Did Gold Eagle Casino actually live up to the hype for you?
Ha, funny timing — some of my coworkers have been hyping that place too, so this is good to hear before I bother making the trip out 😅
Walking the whole floor twice and still feeling underwhelmed is rough, that's basically two laps of disappointment lol. The cage thing sounds like the real dealbreaker though. Half-empty floor on a weeknight but the payout line crawls because there's only a couple staff working? That'd kill the mood for me fast. When I do go I'll probably bring cash I'm okay leaving behind and just ask here first how the cage runs on slower nights, if anyone knows 🙏
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
Two laps and still nothing hitting? Sounds like the floor was paying nobody that night. A slow cage on a weeknight with half the staff gone would've killed the mood for me too 💸
hah, two laps of disappointment, that's one way to put it 😄 but fellas, give the place a bit of slack. been through this cycle before with land-based joints: one slow weeknight tells you next to nothing. i've seen dead floors come alive on a friday and pay like the old slots used to.
now the cage, that's a fair gripe and i won't defend it. couple of staff on a weeknight while half the floor sits empty? that's just poor staffing, plain and simple. i cashed out at a cage once after hitting nice on an oldie and waited so long i nearly talked myself back into the machine, that's how you lose a win, standing in line getting impatient lol. my rule now: cash out early evening before the shift change crunch. try it on a busier night before writing the place off, might surprise you 😉
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Haven't been myself but the cage thing would bug me too 😬 waiting in line while half the floor is empty sounds like bad staffing, not just a slow night. Maybe Gramps is right and weekends are a different animal though. Do they at least have enough machines open on a Friday, or is the whole place always that quiet? 🤔
