Worth the drive to Lonestar Casino?
Only hit a real casino floor a couple times so far so go easy on me 😅 but that long walk from the far slots back to the cage sounds annoying after a session, like your legs are dead and the ticket's burning a hole in your pocket the whole way 😂
Good to hear the payout part itself was no drama though. Handed over the ticket, got paid, done. That's basically what I worry about most when I finally cash out somewhere new. Was the floor easy to figure out otherwise? Like could you find your way around without wandering, or was the layout kinda maze-y too? 🎰
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
Funny thing about that walk, it feels even longer when the last few spins were dead and the ticket is the only thing keeping the night alive 😭 That said, a smooth cage makes up for a lot. Handed it over, got paid, done - that's the dream, plenty of places make you stand around like you're at a bank on payday.
Slot floor placement is intentional though, eh - they want you passing all those machines on the way out. Every lit reel between you and the cage is a chance you stop and feed another twenty. I treat it like a discipline test after a session: ticket in pocket, eyes forward, straight line. Bankroll discipline doesn't end when you get up from the machine. If the payout was painless, that drive was worth it for me 🎰
that walk's the casino's oldest trick, keeps you passing machines you might feed on the way out 😉 I got caught twice doing exactly that. smooth cage still counts for plenty though.
I remember the old slots first-hand.
OneMoreDeposit nailed it, that walk is engineered, and it works on most people. Myself I've gone down that gauntlet with a dead ticket in hand plenty of times, and the layout made me re-feed the machines out of pure spite for my own wallet.
That said, a cage that just takes the ticket and pays without the twenty questions routine is rarer than it should be, so credit where due. I'll say this though: one smooth Saturday visit proves very little. Ask me again after a few trips, a busy Friday night, and whether the payout was just as clean at peak hours. Who actually got paid matters more than how pleasant the clerk was once.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
ah but RTPTracker, spite-feeding a dead wallet on the way out, that's a choice you made, mate, the layout just gave you an excuse 😉 I've done the same march plenty of times, turned 50 into 5k once because I detoured past one more bank of reels on the way to the cage. so blame the walk all you like, the machines don't drag you in by the collar 😄
Busted more than you've deposited 😉
the walk's only brutal if you let it be, kids 😄 i've done that march enough times to know the trick, pocket the ticket, eyes forward, no eye contact with the reels. though i'll admit vancouverlocal's version sounds better, mine usually ended at the cage with a lighter wallet and a story about the one that got away
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Honestly the walk gave me the same problem, pockets the ticket then baaack to the reels 😅 GrinderSpin's eyes-forward trick sounds like the only defence I've got. cheers for the breakdown folks! 🙏
