Spent a Friday evening at Chances Casino in BC and it felt more like
Never been to one of those community gaming centres yet, but that cage story sounds like a dream 😅 the couple times I've cashed out there's always a line and I just stand there sweating. Was it actually chill on a Friday night? Wondering if the smaller BC centres are worth the trip over the big resort floors 🎰
Learning to clear wagering, go easy 🙏
Dead chill, honestly - walked up, they counted the cash out while chatting about the Friday crowd, done in a couple minutes. That's the thing with these BC community gaming centres, smaller floor means nobody bunching up at the cage. Beats standing in a resort queue sweating over your bankroll any day 😅
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
Dead right about the smaller floor. I hit a couple of those BC community centres when I'm out west visiting family, and Friday night you can actually hear yourself think. Reminds me of the halls back in the day before everything turned into a giant glass resort with a buffet line out the door — the machines used to pay fairer then too, or maybe I was just younger and luckier, who knows 😄
Cage story doesn't surprise me one bit. Nothing worse than standing in a queue with a ticket burning a hole in your pocket while some fella argues over a handpay. Greed makes the line long, patience makes it short, as my old man used to say. If a newbie like DiceLordHunter ever gets the chance, go on a quieter weeknight first, get the lay of the land before the Friday crowd shows up.
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Line-free cage on a Friday sounds fake until someone posts it, but smaller floors do move quicker. Cheque-free cash in hand beats waiting around.
Cashout screenshot or it didn't happen.
Chill cage on a Friday? I'll believe it when I'm standing there myself, son 😄 thirty-odd years of this and I've never once walked away from a cage on a payday night without doing the shuffle-line shuffle. That said, turned 50 into 5k at a little floor once back in the day and even then there were three blokes ahead of me pretending they weren't counting their own cash twice.
But you're probably onto something with these community centres, the old-school grind floors used to be like that before everyone built cathedrals to the pokies. Smaller room, staff who actually remember faces, you can hear the reels instead of the buffet queue. Might have to make the trip out west and test that theory myself. If it's a five-minute cage run on a Friday I'll eat my words and buy a round 😉
Busted more than you've deposited 😉
Funny how the small places end up being the easy ones 😄 I'm still pretty new to actually cashing out anywhere (used to just spin and walk), but my one trip to a BC community centre felt the same way, cage staff actually seemed happy to see you instead of treating you like a number. Got my cash counted out quick, no drama, no shuffle line.
VancouverLocal416, I get why thirty years of payday-night lines makes you skeptical 😂 but I think that's exactly it. Small floor, fewer players, and the cage isn't fighting the whole Friday crowd at once. Big resort floors have the volume; these places just don't. Honestly the low-key vibe made it easier to walk out when I was done too, instead of one more slot calling my name 🙃
New here, soaking it up.
ha, thirty-odd years and never a line-free cage out, vancouver? maybe you've just been playing the big resort floors where they herd you like cattle 😄 i've had the same chill experience at those bc community centres. Walked up friday night, cash in hand before my coffee went cold. mind you, the old slots hit different, but i'll take a quiet cage over a fancy floor any day
Been grinding longer than some have played.
Ha, poor VancouverLocal 😄 only been playing a couple months and my one Chances trip was line-free too, cage lady even chatted while she counted my cash. Cheered me right up!
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
ha, vancouver, maybe the cage gods just heard all your complaining and decided to humble you next visit 😄
i've had my share of standing in those snake lines on a friday night too, back when i was doing the big resort circuit up here, you'd cash out a decent hit and spend half an hour shuffling forward like it's bank week. the community centres are a different animal though. my one trip to chances was the same deal, walked up, lady counted out my cash while chatting about the weather like we were neighbours, done. makes you wonder if the small joints just don't get the volume, or if they actually give a damn. either way, i'll take it. the old slots hit different out there too, mind you, but maybe that's just the smaller crowd letting you breathe. next friday i'm testing that cage line theory myself, vancouver, i'll report back 😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Honestly the cage part is what sold me too 😅 I'm such a noob that my hands were shaking asking where to cash out, and the lady just walked me through it like it was nothing. No line, friendly chat, done before I could even get nervous. Big resort floors could learn a thing from these community centres imo 🙏
