How was your Saturday night at Ace Casino?
An empty line at the cage at 11pm? That alone would sell me honestly 😄 I've stood in a Saturday payout line long enough to watch my buzz wear off, so hearing you walked up and were out in minutes feels like a small miracle.
Sounds like a good night overall - relaxed floor, quick cash, no hassle. Quick question from a newer guy: do you find the slots there pay decently on a casual night, or were you mostly on the tables? 🎰 Trying to figure out where my money goes best when I visit.
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
that 11pm no-line thing is real, i've done the midnight shuffle at a few places where the queue crawls while your winnings just sit there mocking you 😄 a floor that stays calm on a saturday and a cage that pays cash without fuss, that's how you know a spot's run right. reminds me of the old rooms where the cage guy knew half the players by name. keep that one in your rotation, kid, they're getting rare.
Been grinding longer than some have played.
The 11 pm detail is the part I keep chewing on, because a cage that's staffed properly late on a Saturday tells you something about how the place forecasts its traffic. I've been in floor layouts where the whole Saturday crowd funnels out at once after the tables cool off, and the queue becomes a variance problem of its own - you're standing there with a payout in your head, watching your discipline decay with every minute. A short line does more for bankroll sanity than any floor theme ever will.
Funny thing is, the calm floor matters for the games too. On a small spin sample you can't really judge much at the machines anyway, but a relaxed room means fewer tilted decisions, less chasing on a cold run, and you actually leave when your session plan says leave. Walk-up cash in minutes, door, done, that's the whole loop working as intended. Might have to give Ace a Saturday shot myself.
Volatility > vibes.
Quick dumb question 😅 what's a "cheque-free payout"? Like the cage just hands you cash instead of a cheque? That sounds way better than what I'm used to, go easy on me 🙈

no dumb questions at all, lad. We've all been there 😄. cheque-free just means the cage hands you cold cash instead of printing one of those paper cheques you then have to cash at the bank monday morning. nothing complicated.
turned a couple hundred into four figures at a saturday floor once, got handed a cheque, and spent half my week running that errand, takes the shine right off a win. so when the OP says he walked up at 11pm, no queue, cash in hand and out the door in minutes, that's the good stuff. you don't appreciate it until you've stood in one of those snaking saturday payout lines watching your buzz wear off like WildWin said. enjoy the small mercies 😉
Busted more than you've deposited 😉
Ok so the cheque thing actually answered a question I was too embarrassed to ask when I hit my first cage payout last month 😅 walked out with a paper slip and figured that was just how it worked everywhere. Good to hear some spots just count out the cash on the spot, that alone might get me to try Ace next weekend. Do they run the floor busy late on Saturdays or was it pretty chill when you were there? 🙈

NickHighRoller, I'd pump the brakes on reading too much into the 11 pm staffing. One quiet Saturday tells you almost nothing about forecasting. Could've been a slow night, could've been a long weekend shifting traffic, could've been three windows open and zero interesting hands at the tables pulling people to cash out. Your spin sample, so to speak, is tiny 📊
What I'd actually want to know from OP: was the floor itself busy, or was the whole place dead? A short cage line with an empty floor is a very different signal than a packed floor that still cashes you out in minutes. The second one is genuinely good operations. Also worth noting the cash payout, I've had venues hand me a paper slip for anything over a modest amount, and standing at a bank window Monday morning with a casino cheque is nobody's idea of a good weekend follow-up.
Do the EV, then spin.
