I've only been to Regent once and honestly felt the same vibe, like the machines knew I was a newbie before I even sat down 😅 What got me was the cage - cashed out my few leftover chips and the teller was so polite it almost softened the loss 😂 Go easy on me if this sounds dumb, but does everyone get that "seen it all" energy at the cage or was I just visibly wrecked lol

ha, that cage crew really does carry the whole place eh. i busted more banks than i care to admit over the years and a polite teller at the cage does soften the walk of shame a bit. machines went cold on me plenty of tuesdays too - the old slots hit different back in the day, they'd at least string you along before taking your C$. i keep going back for the floor anyway, some habits die hard 😄

I'll give the cage crew credit though, my last cashout there was quick and civil, which is more than the slots did for me all evening. Only caveat: polite tellers mean nothing if the floor keeps you coming back on a losing streak. Who actually got paid this month, that's what I want to see.

Funny thing though, bankroll was barely dented by the end because I stuck to my usual rule. Set the loss number before I walk in, and when the spins stop paying, stop feeding. SinceRegular, that's just variance doing its little theatre, but I've had the exact same Tuesday out there. Fed a machine steadily, walked away with maybe C$40 of what I brought, and the very same unit started ringing off wins the moment I was two steps gone. Felt personal. It wasn't.
What I'll actually credit Regent for is the cage. Cashed out my leftovers there once and the teller didn't make me feel like a charity case, which is more courtesy than the floor earned. Still, I keep receipts, my rule is the trip only counts as a win when the cash is physically in my hand at the cage. "The machine started paying after I left" is a story, not a payout.
