I've never been to Pickering myself but a Tuesday afternoon being quiet near the slots honestly makes sense, eh? 😅 I figured the table pit in the back would be the lively spot since it was packed when I went. Maybe I'm being dumb, but do resorts like that pick up a lot more in the evenings or on weekends? 🎰

Quiet Tuesday near the entrance slots tracks with most venues, honestly - daytime slot traffic is usually retirees and passersby, while the pit in the back keeps a steadier crowd because table regulars plan their visits. Curious whether it picks up on weekends there. If anyone actually hits something on those entrance machines, cage receipt or it didn't happen.

rtp is right that table regulars keep the pit breathing midweek, same old-school grind everywhere. i turned 50 into 5k at a blackjack table once on a dead Tuesday, quiet floor and all, and honestly those dead afternoons were when the joints paid nicest. give it a weekend spin and see if that entrance slot bank wakes up, eh? 😄
Busted more than you've deposited 😉

Quick shy question from a newbie 😅 - when you guys say "table regulars", do you mean folks who show up every week and the dealers know them by name? Like, does the pit actually treat them different than walk-ins like me? Never been to Pickering yet, still figuring out how floors work 🙈 cheers!

yep, that's pretty much it, the pit boss and dealers get to know the same faces week after week. they get comped coffees, sometimes a free meal or a room if they've dropped enough hours on the felt. walk-ins still get treated fine, mind you, the dealers at Pickering were friendly to everyone when I wandered through, but regulars just get those little courtesies stacked up over time. as for the quiet slot section up front, I liked it actually. reminds me of the old floors where you could settle in and actually hear the machine paying instead of fighting for a seat. a dead Tuesday afternoon near the entrance is where I'd feed a few C$ bills in slow, no crowd pushing behind you. greed killed more bankrolls than any empty floor ever did, so use the quiet while it lasts 😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.

dead afternoons paid nicest? buddy, I busted more banks on quiet Tuesdays than you'd believe 😄 maybe the floor's just empty 'cause everyone's broke after the weekend.

Total noob here so correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe the entrance slots sit empty because folks go straight for tables first and hit the machines on the way out? 😅

Honestly that matches my one trip there. Walked past a row of dead machines by the doors and the tables up back were humming 🤔 still learning how floors work but seems like the regulars just camp the pit.

@Grand_Win you've got the floor figured out better than most newbies already 😉 tables keep the regulars warm, sure, but those dead machines by the doors aren't empty because nobody plays them - they're the cold ones. turn 50 into 5k once on an old reel slot years back, and it wasn't sitting at any entrance. wander deeper, that's where the ones that used to pay live.

Never been but this thread makes me want to check a quiet Tuesday out 😅 maybe I'm being dumb, but fewer bodies at the machines sounds good to me 🙏
New here, soaking it up.
