Had to deal with the cage staff at Players Palace last weekend
Glad someone posted this, been wondering how the cage is actually run there 😅 I've only done a couple of venue visits so far and the cashout part still feels like the scariest bit to me, like I walk up with a ticket and suddenly forget how anything works lol.
Quick question since you dealt with the staff: did they ask for ID for a smaller cashout, or only once it got bigger? And do they hand you the cash right there or is it a cheque situation? Go easy on me, total newbie here 🙏
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
kid, we all fumbled the id dance once 😉 just hand em the ticket, let em count, verify the slip before ya pocket it. second trip yer fine. trust me, turned 50 into 5k ones and still nearly left forgot the winning stub lol😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Cage fear fades fast after your second trip tbh. Present the ticket, count, sign, done. Worst cashout ever was me fumbling my ID like a rookie 😭
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
This thread is making me feel better about my first cage trip coming up 😅 I only did my first deposit online recently so the in-person thing is still a mystery to me. Maybe I'm being dumb but - do they check ID every single time at Players Palace, or only if you cash out over some limit? Still learning bonuses and all the withdrawal side of things, so no idea how a ticket cashout even works at the counter.
NearMissGate that story about nearly leaving the winning stub behind gave me anxiety just reading it lol. I'd probably be the same 🤔 if any of you go back there, let me know if the cage staff are patient with newbies, would rather not fumble my cheque moment in front of a line of people. Thanks for sharing, this stuff genuinely helps 🙏
New here, soaking it up.

@BigWin_Max not a dumb question at all. In my experience they'll want ID any time you cash a ticket or hit a threshold for tax/AML paperwork, and if you look young they'll card you at the door anyway, so just carry it every trip. First cage visit, my tip: let the attendant count twice, verify the slip matches before you pocket it, same advice NearMissGate gave. On a small spin sample of my own visits, that's the whole ritual, nothing to sweat.
Volatility > vibes.

@BigWin_Max not dumb at all, kid. first cage trip had me sweating like a rookie on a third date 😄 just bring the ID, let em count, pocket the slip second. the old slots hit different in person tho, you'll see.

@BigWin_Max I'm in the same boat, only did my first deposit recently and still learning bonuses 😅 sounds like just bring your ID always, anyone know if the cage counts the cash in front of you or behind glass?
Learning to clear wagering, go easy 🙏

@RngGod_Chaser counted right in front of you every cage I've hit, no stress there. Bring the ID and watch the count, then pocket the slip, cashing out in time is everything 🔥

@Josh_YUL facts, watch the count and keep that slip on you no matter what 🔥 I cashed out after a huge session at the Palace once and doing it before the late-night quiet hit was the best call, parking lot paranoia is real lol. And yeah no tipping, my bankroll stays with me 🤑
Backing my slot to the last spin.

@BigWin77 slip in the wallet, same here mate, mine usually gets used to plan my next donation to the casino anyway 🤣 Early cashout is the one trick I actually follow, walk out while the floor's still loud and nobody clocks you. My last "huge session" ended with the bank's gone soundtrack on the drive home 😂
Bank memes are therapy too.

@Josh_YUL this guy gets it, watch the count every time 🔥 did my cashout at the Palace early evening too, floor was buzzing and zero sketch vibes walking out. Slip went straight in my wallet ngl. Palace cage crew's been solid with me, some of you are too harsh on them 😄🎰
One slot, one love 🎰

@DoubleDouble_87 same, Palace cage crew has never done me wrong, counted out my C$ hit front of me no drama 🔥 Toque_Local acting like the slip's cursed lol, mine went straight in the wallet too and slept fine. Early cashout while the floor's loud is just common sense...
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
@RngGod_Chaser I was wondering the same thing 😅 every cage visit I've had so far they counted it right in front of me, which honestly calmed my nerves a ton. Reading this thread I'm thinking ID taped to my phone case from now on lol 🙃 do you guys tip the cage staff or is that weird?
Asking dumb bonus questions — that's the job.
Never tip the cage, that's a hard no - their job is to count your money, not get a cut of your session 😄 Did a C$900 cashout at Players Palace once, counted right in front of me, slip in pocket before I walked. 🔥
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.
Agree with SinceRegular on the tipping, hard no there. Cage already gets paid to count, and my bankroll needs every dollar more than they do 😸 Biggest worry for me at any cage is the walk to the parking lot after a decent hit, that's why I cash out earlier in the evening when the floor's busy rather than limping out at 2am with a fat slip.
Players Palace cage counted mine in front of me too, watch every bill, keep the slip in your pocket until you're at the car. And yeah, ID taped to the phone case is actually not a bad system, whatever gets you paid faster 💸

@SinceRegular nine hundred counted front of ya, nice change from the usual stories here where someone claims a monster score then ghosts when withdrawal time comes 😏 sure, the slip was safe and all… until the ATM ate the rest of the night 💸 that C$900 probably lasted till midnight tops 🤡
A paper win won't feed you.

@Toque_Local fair jab about the ATM, but that C$900 lasting till midnight depends entirely on what you're feeding it. Sit down at a low-volatility reel game and that money can crawl for hours; hop on something swingy and it's gone in twenty minutes. Same bankroll, wildly different lifespan, that's volatility doing its work, while RTP just quietly sets the ceiling on where the night ends up long-term. My rule after a cage trip: the cashout is done, whatever's left in my pocket is entertainment budget I've already mentally written off. If it survives to see daylight, bonus. Victoria's right though, early exit while the floor's loud is genuinely the one discipline worth copying, walking out with a wallet slip beats walking out with a story about how it almost came back.
Volatility > vibes.

@HalifaxNorth yeah the low-vol trick works, been there. Crawled through a whole evening on a boring reel game once at the Palace, felt like watching paint dry with extra steps. Thing is, "lasting till midnight" just means you lose it slower 🤡 either way the cage window at the end is the same size, and mine's usually smaller than the start.
Guaranteed minus long-run, my guy. Paul_Win cashing early while the floor's roaring. Good for him, but did you even withdraw, or is it all still cycling? 😏
The house always wins.
lol @Toque_Local that C$900 didn't go quiet into the night on my watch, trust me 😂 I'll admit I top it up when the swingy stuff's cooking but Palace has been good to me man. Cage crew counted mine out no drama, cashed early like PoutineHQ says and bounced while the floor was roaring.
And HalifaxNorth is right, feeding it to a low-vol reel game it crawls forever. My all-time favourite though? Gonna ride the swingy one every evening anyway, that's where the magic hits 🔥💰 shocked ya, Toque lol 🤑

@DaveReels slow-bleed slots do feel like paying C$ an hour for the AC, 😅 but honestly for a newb like me that's kind of the point, I only dropped in my first time last month and stretching a small buyout was the whole goal. Guess I'd rather lose boring than lose fast lol. Does anyone actually enjoy those grindy machines though or is it just bankroll survival? 🤔
