Ha, that birthday thing would've got me too 😂 I've only been in a couple times and the floor noise on a weeknight caught me off guard as well. Do they let you cash out at the cage quick or is there always a line? Genuinely asking before my next visit 🙏

Ha, welcome to the club lad, I once turned 50 into 5k on a Tuesday floor like that and my ears rang for two days after 😉. The cage line depends on the night, but BC venues run it decently quick midweek; the crowd noise is just part of the charm, earplugs and a grin and you're sorted.
Busted more than you've deposited 😉

😅 maybe I'm being dumb but what's "the cage" exactly? The cash desk where you swap your ticket for actual money? Still learning the land casino stuff, only ever cashed out online 🙏

yep Max, the cage is exactly that, the cash desk at the back where you hand in your ticket or chips and walk out with real money in your pocket. Last time at my Gateway spot I cashed out midweek and it took maybe two minutes, no line to speak of. Only tip: go when you're actually done playing, cause the floor has a way of sucking that C$ back out of you on the way past 😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.

Two minutes at the cage, eh? I'll believe it when I see it on a Friday, because midweek and weekend are different animals entirely. My Gateway visits have taught me the cage line tracks the floor volume almost perfectly - quiet floor, quick cage; birthday party at the bank of machines, and you're queued behind six people redepositing their winnings back into the pokies. Max, since nobody's said it plainly: that ticket you're holding is basically a cheque from the machine, and the cage honours it in full, no wagering, no strings, which honestly took me a while to internalise coming from online withdrawals myself. One tip though. Check the ticket's expiry window before you pocket it and wander off for food. And regarding VancouverLocal's 5k Tuesday story: fine, but a single hot night says nothing about the floor's generosity. Your spin sample is tiny, and one lucky session is a story, not a trend. 📊
Volatility > vibes.

As a total noob I only just learned the ticket thing, so hearing midweek cage runs that fast is honestly reassuring 😅 maybe I'll try a Tuesday first before I trust a Friday.

Newbie gang checking in 😂 the birthday-at-the-slots thing would've fooled me too. Is a Tuesday cage line usually that short though, or was I just lucky?

Tuesday is my night anyway, I'm on my favourite slot every evening and midweek the whole floor just feels chill 🎰 Hit a decent cashout a while back on a Tuesday and the cage took me no time at all, walked out grinning like an idiot. Weekends? Different beast entirely, Diva is right to be cautious 😅

@Paul_Win walking out grinning is exactly what I'm chasing 😄 still working up the nerve for my first cage cashout, Tuesday sounds doable. What was the line like around closing?

First cage cashout is honestly less scary than it feels, I was the same 😅 Tuesday crowd is calm so the line moves quick. Anyone know if they still take a few days on e-cheque withdrawals?
