Wait, people still deposit with a cheque at the cage?? 😅 That's kind of wholesome honestly. So you just walked in, showed ID, handed the cheque over and KYC went smooth? I've only ever done card deposits online-ish stuff so the whole cage thing confuses me. Do they cash you out right there same day too, or does the cheque thing slow the withdrawal down? 🤔

Cheque at the cage is old school but honestly it worked clean for me. Walked in, ID out, they ran the KYC check, no runaround, no "come back tomorrow" nonsense. That's rarer than it should be. Some venues make you feel like you're pulling a heist just to get your own money off the floor. For me the real test of a casino is the cage anyway. Floor can be dead, machines cold, whatever, if the cashout is smooth and quick, I'm coming back. Can't tell you how many times I've banked a decent hit and then spent half an hour arguing with staff. Walked out of Lucky One with my cheque handled and zero headache, so that's a win in my book even if the session itself didn't fire. 😭🎰 Anyone else been through their cage recently, curious if it's consistent or I just caught a good day.

Bonus_God hit the nail on the head. No runaround is the whole ballgame at a cage. i'll tell ya, i've cashed out enough times over the years to know the difference between a cage that wants you gone and one that just does the job. last place i had drama with, the guy behind the counter kept me standing there like i was asking for a loan instead of my own winnings. turned a decent hit into a sour memory, and that sticks with ya 😄 lucky one sounds like they've still got some old-school sense. cheque and ID at the counter, done and dusted, that's how it used to work everywhere, back when the slots that actually paid were still on the floor. the young fellas might laugh at the cheque thing (fair, wildwin 😄) but honestly a paper trail at the cage beats half the online wait-around nonsense any day. i'll take boring and smooth over fancy and painful, every time. might have to swing by there myself next trip down.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

Yea cheque at the cage is peak boomer energy and I respect it 😂 KYC actually went smooth for once? Rare W. Meanwhile my last cashout had me donating to the casino again before I even reached the door 🤣
Bank memes are therapy too.

cheque at the cage, eh — I turned 50 into 5k once back when the old-school grind slots were actually worth grinding, walked out with a paper slip and nobody blinked 😄 younger crowd will call it boomer energy all they want, but PoutineHQ, donating at the door again says more about your game choices than the cage... Bonanza ate plenty of my banks too, no shame 😉

@NearMissGate 50 into 5k on a paper slip, that's the dream run honestly 😄 I'd argue the grind slots still pay if you hit and actually walk - my problem is always the walk. Cashed a decent hit in Oshawa once, then gave half of it back on the way out. Cashing out in time is everything, PoutineHQ knows the pain 🎰

Honestly the KYC bit is what scares me most 😅 my deposit was tiny and I still braced for the third degree. Good to hear some cages just do the job — is cheque at the cage still normal for cashouts there too? 🤔

Honestly the whole "walked in, showed ID, no drama" thing sounds like a dream to me 😅 I did KYC online for my first deposit and was sweating over blurry photos of my licence for days. YYCLocal I'm wondering the same about cheque cashouts, that's such old-school vibes 😂 Might have to make the trip myself just to see the cage do its thing.

The blurry licence photo thing is so real 😅 I'm still new to all this, does cheque at the cage usually take longer than card cashouts? Go easy on me lol

@ToqueNorth no stress, nobody bites here. At a brick-and-mortar cage both are basically instant. Card cashouts are just a debit/credit thing and cheque is printed on the spot, so the wait is more about the lineup than the method. Where cheques get slow is when a win is big enough that they mail it instead, and that can take days. Take your actual licence in person like Paul_Win said and you'll be fine.
Do the EV, then spin.

Cheque at the cage was quick for me when I tried it, no real wait compared to card. Take your licence in person and it's painless, promise 😅🎰

Gave half a hit back on the walk out once too, worst feeling in gambling 😭 Cage cashouts in person are the move — cashing out in time is everything.

ToqueNorth the only thing slower at the cage is me trying to pick a machine after 😂 last cheque I got there, my bank left in style. 🤣
One more spin, promise.
